This Electronics Merit Badge Kit comes with all of the parts needed to build an Arduinlo based electronic device that has many different pre-programmed games and sequences in it.
The kit comes with some the parts that are defined in the requirements, teaches soldering and provides an easy platform to use testing devices (multimeter) to demonstrate how the parts work.
Once the device is assembled, it can be an enjoyable electronic toy. Plus the scout has something to show for what they created.
Since the kit uses an Arduino is can be easily re-programmed and experimented with using free open source software downloaded from arduino.cc.
Out latest version of the code is available for free on this website and can be downloaded at any time. We do make updates to the code from time to time with new features.
Here is what comes in this kit:
- Custom PC Board
- 4 Green LEDs
- 4 Yellow LEDs
- 4 Red LEDs
- 1 270 Ohm Resistor
- 1 Pushbutton Switch
- 1 Potentiometer
- 1 9v battery clip
- 1 DIL socket for the Arduino
- 4 screws
- 4 standoffs
- 4 nuts
Please note that this kit is focused on the electronics part. There is only one resistor which can handle one LED being lit at a time. Our Electronics / Programming kit has a resistor for every LED, + an – pins, easy access to the remaining pins on the Arduino and a serial interface. The Electronics / Programming kit is designed for those that will be experimenting and writing there own programs that could light up more than one LED at a time.
